FORWARD is a one-day networking event serving as a platform for Black/African professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives to connect, learn and thrive. Through FORWARD, we cultivate connections, share opportunities, and inspire actions to help our community advance.
FORWARD is brought to you by Beyond Borders Network, a global platform that connects Black and Diaspora-African professionals with the resources and networks they need to advance and thrive in their careers/business. We also serve as a bridge for global companies looking to hire the best talent on the African continent. We recognize the need to tell our own stories as Blacks and Africans in the Diaspora. Therefore, this event serves as a dedicated space to celebrate black excellence, connect, learn and cultivate opportunities to thrive.
We are dedicating this event as an avenue to share our own stories, hence the theme - Our Stories, Our Platforms. This event seeks to celebrate our successes, as well as address some challenges we face by bringing together black professionals from diverse backgrounds and industries to share experiences, learn from each other, and access valuable resources and opportunities for growth. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, the event aims to support attendees to navigate their careers successfully and achieve their professional goals.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8), which aims to promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all, FORWARD recognizes the importance of narrating our own stories as Blacks and Africans in the Diaspora. This event serves as a dedicated space to celebrate Black excellence, build connections, learn from one another, and cultivate opportunities for our community to thrive.
Objectives of the Event
● Networking & Connections: The primary objective of FORWARD is to facilitate meaningful interactions among Black/African professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives. By providing a dedicated platform for these individuals to connect, the event aims to foster relationships and collaborations that can lead to new opportunities and career advancements
● Learning from Experts and Leaders: Another critical objective of FORWARD is to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from experts and industry leaders. By featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions led by seasoned professionals, the event ensures that participants can gain valuable insights and practical advice from those who have successfully navigated their own careers
● Celebrating Excellence & Addressing Challenges: The event is dedicated to recognizing and honoring stories of success and resilience within the community. At the same time, it also addresses the unique challenges faced by the Black/African diaspora. By offering strategies and resources to overcome these barriers, FORWARD aims to empower attendees to achieve their professional goals
