Susan Olapade
Susan Olapade is an entrepreneur, COO and Co-founder of Akaani, Susan is Co-founder and COO of akaani. akaani is a pioneering food tech app harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to provide tailored meal recommendations for individuals of West African descent.
With a diverse background in e-commerce, IT consulting, and finance & insurance industries, Susan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role at Akaani. After earning her first degree in Chemical Engineering, Susan discovered her true passion at the intersection of Technology and Business. Pursuing further education, she graduated from New York University with a Master's in Management of Technology, where she immersed herself in the transformative potential of AI. Her academic journey equipped her with insights into how AI can redefine business operations, customer engagement, and strategic initiatives in our evolving digital era.
In addition to her role at Akaani, Susan serves as a Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she continues to drive innovation and spearhead initiatives at the forefront of technology and business integration. With a keen focus on integrating AI into the retail and e-commerce sectors, Susan is deeply passionate about harnessing the power of technology to drive positive change and shape the future of commerce.
Tosin Durotoye
Tosin Durotoye is an innovation strategist, social impact leader, global speaker and a Forbes-featured equity and diversity advocate. She is the founder of The Bloom Africa – a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the growth of African women and girls through education, entrepreneurship, career, and personal development.
She is currently an Innovation and Optimization Strategist at Delta Air Lines – the second largest revenue generating airline in the world and is also the principal consultant at Conselia Advisory Practice – a boutique management consulting firm.
Tosin has over 18 years of public and private sector experience in technology innovation, project and program management, and strategic partnerships. She is a certified professional coach, a Google for Startups Accelerator mentor and a Techstars mentor. She is also an Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leader, Leading Ladies Africa’s “Nigeria’s 100 Most Inspiring Women”, Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) 100 Under 40 and a Charter Member for the West Africa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta – a 108-year-old public service organization. Tosin serves as a board member for USA for UNFPA - the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency and Slum2School – a volunteer driven development organization transforming the society by empowering underserved children in slums and remote communities with quality education, entrepreneurial skills and psychosocial support.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wake Forest University and a Masters of Urban Planning degree from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.
Michele Wanjiku Wainaina
Michele is the Africa Regional Lead of Endeavor Catalyst, Endeavor’s innovative co-investment fund. Since launching in 2012, Endeavor Catalyst has raised over $500M+across four funds and made 300+ investments in 30+ different countries. In Africa, the fund has invested in 30+ Endeavor Companies across South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.
Prior to Endeavor, Michele started her career in Corporate Banking at J.P. Morgan where she covered U.S. Public Sector Enterprises. Michele is also a founding team member and strategic advisor for Chui Ventures, a Pan-African seed fund that invests in local founders.
A graduate of NYU, Michele spends her time between New York and Kenya.
